What participants have said about the mini course…
In the past, I have struggled with speaking up in group situations and with having presence that would be valued by others. I have also found it challenging dealing with difficult people as a leader. The “Influencing Tips for Quiet Achievers” course has helped me to change my mindset and I have learned how to use my influence to achieve good outcomes with people and work.
Learning the difference between difficult and different people has helped me to view and approach people more effectively and as simple as that is, it is a force.
My confidence has grown, and I am aware of my presence from when I enter a room and how I am letting people perceive me. I have already received some positive comments from others around this.
I’m sharing ideas but also listening and valuing people who have different opinions and ideas from mine. I’m pushing that chatterbox voice in my head down and it’s not going to win!
I enjoyed following the format of the work sheet and completing it. It’s also a living document that I can refer to and come back and compare to update and see my progress going forward.
The biggest challenge I have faced in developing my influencing skills was in taking my naturally friendly, people pleasing nature to teh next level in terms of real influence over stakeholders.
This course taught me the importance of presence and focus, listening to others, and the ability to slow down my vocal presence. I found learning tangible micro skills very useful, especially around priming and support building. I have a greater understanding of the need to reinforce WHY something is impoirtant to others when getting people on board
Going forward, I believe I will be a better leader as a result of this course.
In the past, I have felt stressed when I was required to network. I sometimes felt like my voice was not being heard.
Through this course, I have learned the importance of presence and some skills for being more present. I have also learned that I can use my quieter personality to my advantage when I know how.
Going forward, I feel that I will be able to use these to make my team feel even more connected and listened to.
I really like the way this course was structured with a workbook that aligned to each lesson. It is great to have the workbook to refer back to when I need to remind myself on the tips I learnt. I like the way the course was quick, and I can do it on my own time.
